Welcome to MoltenMetalofNY.com

I am Greg Myka a metal and wood artist creating one-of-a-kind, handcrafted works by cutting, shaping, and transforming new and repurposed materials into wildlife, landscape, and narrative pieces. My process incorporates distinctive, self-developed techniques that emphasize the character of each material and ensure every piece is truly one of one. I avoid paints and do not use CNC.

As an avid outdoorsman and traveler, I draw deep inspiration from the wild places I explore—the towering peaks, rugged landscapes, and the powerful animals that inhabit them. My work often celebrates large creatures of mountainous regions, such as bison, whose strength and presence captivate my imagination.

Immersed in the arts from a young age, I began my professional practice in 2017 and have since transitioned to working full-time, deepening my focus on work inspired by nature, wildlife, and the stories that connect us to the landscapes we cherish. My work has been regularly selected for juried exhibitions, contributing to a growing exhibition history and collector base.

Each piece is a unique fusion of industrial strength and organic beauty—a collaboration between my skills, employing multi-media methods, integrating coloring and shading techniques to produce blended effects that bring a piece to life in both two and three dimensions. This approach allows me to craft textured, dynamic artworks that engage viewers from multiple angles and perspectives worked out of the raw, upcycled materials I bring back to life. Using plasma cutting and welding techniques, I shape discarded metal and reclaimed wood into expressive forms that evoke the power, spirit, and grace of the natural world.

At its core, my practice is about connection—creating pieces that invite conversation, evoke memory, and reflect personal meaning. Whether capturing a beloved animal, a meaningful place, or an intangible experience rendered in steel, I aim to create work that resonates. My art celebrates strength, resilience, wildness, and the enduring relationship between people, the creatures, and the environments we share.

For me, the true reward lies in how my art is perceived—whether it’s the joy you feel when your conversation piece invokes a passionate exchange with friends, when you see a beloved animal, a special place, or your ethereal experience is immortalized in rugged steel; or you feel the euphoric sense of awe a unique piece can inspire. My art is a celebration of strength, resilience, wildness, independence and the enduring relationship between humans, the creatures, and the environments we share the earth with.
